I’m the heart and lens behind Sammy Jean Photography. I’m here to capture the beauty of your authentic moments. From the joy of a growing family to the quiet magic of welcoming a new baby. Based in the stunning Pacific Northwest, I specialize in creating timeless photos that reflect you.
A little about me
I’m a mama, storyteller, and lover of PNW adventures. I’ve been with my husband, John, since 2011, and together we have our sweet daughter, Olivia, along with two fur babies. Our cat Nala (our first baby) and our goofy, lovable dog, (Miss) Murphy. For the past 14 years, I’ve worked as a pediatric dental assistant at Galbraith Mountain Pediatric, where my love for working with kids and families truly shines.
A few years ago, John gifted me my first camera, and I fell in love with documenting our adventures. But when Olivia was born, I discovered a deeper passion for capturing life’s most precious moments. The ones that make every day extraordinary. That’s when I realized I wanted to turn my love for photography into something I could share with others: preserving memories that last a lifetime.
When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me hiking through the mountains, camping under the stars, or traveling with my family to explore new places. I believe the best photos come from the real moments. The belly laughs, quiet snuggles, and the connections that make your story unique. Based in Whatcom County, I specialize in maternity, newborn, and family photography that feels effortless and authentic. I’m also passionate about portraits, elopements, and capturing timeless weddings.
